Issue #76: Travel Writing Quiz: 5 Marketing Dilemmas - What Would You Do?
August 24, 2015
Greetings Fellow Travel Writers and Bloggers!

Last night I returned from a marvelous (and exhausting) five-day press trip in Nashville, Tennessee.

Our tour of music city included, naturally, live music shows at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, Legends Corner, the Bluebird Café, Mercy Lounge, Station Inn, Douglas Corner, and of course the Grand Ole Opry.

Our press group of 18 toured the Country Music Hall of Fame and the world famous Lane Motor Museum, plus the Adventure Science Center, the Nashville Shores Water Park, the hair-raising Adventure Works Canopy ZipLine Tour, and we even managed to squeeze in some Stand Up Paddleboarding on one of the city’s lakes.

And did we eat! Our culinary tour of Music City’s Midtown neighborhood included sampling food from several specialty shops and restaurants, and trying Nashville’s renowned Goo Goo Cluster candy bar.

Our culinary tour also involved sampling good ole Tennessee Whiskey at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery, and beers and ales at the Black Abbey Brewing Company.

If you haven’t been following me on Facebook and would like to see what I’ve been up to, please visit my Facebook page where I have posted a daily recap of my press trip travels and adventures. (Best way to find me is search for “Roy Stevenson Freelance Writer”.)

This week’s e-zine article is a fun one - it’s about five marketing dilemmas that all travel writers face at one time or another. And, it’s a quiz!

Test your marketing savvy and find out if you would handle these five situations the same as I do. All the details are in the article.

The Ultimate Travel Writer's Workshop

There's still space in the Great Escape Publishing’s Ultimate Travel Writer’s Workshop.  This workshop is where I got started back in 2007. I'm sure I would have dropped out of travel writing within my first year or two if I had not taken this three-day workshop.

The Ultimate Travel Writer’s Workshop is coming up next month in Denver, Colorado, from September 18-20, at the Grand Hyatt.

I'll be there as a guest speaker and would love to see you there, too.

‘Friend’ Me!
If you haven’t already done so, please ‘Friend’ me (Roy Stevenson Freelance Writer) on Facebook. My posts are generally travel writing-related and I try to keep it fun.

My Saturday morning ‘Where’s Roy’ Facebook post has been particularly popular! I post a travel photo—usually with me in it—and you have to guess where the heck I am. A few friends and subscribers have proved particularly adept at this.

That’s all for now.

Until next time, you keep pitching....
